Compare The Meerkat (comparethemeerkat.com) advert which advertises the price-comparison website, Compare The Market (comparethemarket.com).

This is the new shorten advert!

Compare The Market.com compares prices on a number of items including car insurance, home insurance, as well as credit cards, loans and mortgages.

It aims to give you the cheapest quote from a number of big companies, including the AA, the Post Office and HSBC.

The reason for this advert is the constant mis-spelling of Compare The Market, with users inputting Compare The Meerkat instead.

The advert features a russian meerkat called Alexsandr (somtimes spelt as Alexander) who is the founder of Compare The Meerkat. He complains about the number of cheaper car insurance requests and plays the jingles for both of them.

On his website, you can compare meerkats by size, their favourite hobbies and their location.

Certainly one of the best advertising campaigns in recent time. But remember, if you want cheap car insurance, it's CompareTheMarket.com.

You are missing the ...
You are missing the point. Adding an 's' is a typical - almost stereotypical,? and thus, comic - error made by many Russians when learning English. Aleksandr Orlov (the meercat) has been deliberately created as a caricature Russian, with this aspect being exagerated. Look closely at the dialogue - it always features words that highlight the nusances of the Russian accent or has words that end in 's'. 'simples'!! :)

I'm guessing English isn't your first language or you have a very strict? concept of grammar; putting the 's' at the end just makes it sound silly, especially with the Russian accent, it's not very sophisticated humour but it works :)

The latest series of Meerkat adverts is a complete failure!!! These meerkovo mascotes are no way simmilar to the ones? on the advert, they look like $2 cheap make from China, OMG!!! suck the one who got the deal for these maskots and quickly improve likaness of the meerkats! You have wasted $250k on the container of useless toys!!!
